What can I get digitized?

The Photo Legacybox includes digitizing of 4x6 and 3x5 prints.

If you have videotapes, film reels, audio, or slides that you'd like digitized, we'd recommend checking out our mix and match Legacybox.

Can I send in negatives and slides with my 4x6 Photo Legacybox?

The 4x6 Photo Legacybox includes 4x6 photo prints and 3x5 photo prints. If you have other speciality formats, like negatives or slides, we'd recommend checking out our mix and match Legacybox.

If my photos are stuck together, will you unstick them?

We'd recommend that you either unstick your photos before sending them in or select other non-sticky prints to have scanned.
The bulk scanning process that we've pioneered for the 4x6 Photo Legacybox requires all photos be loose leaf. We will not be able to scan any sticky photos that you send in because they're not compatible with our high-speed scanners.

How long does it take?

Scanning your photo prints by hand is more of an art than a science, so while we can estimate processing times, it varies depending on your order's size and our current demand. At this time, we estimate standard digitizing will take 3-4 weeks.

How much does it cost to scan 1000 photos?

On average, scanning 1,000 photos at 300 dpi can cost around $300. Legacybox can scan 1,000 photos at 600 dpi for $79.99.

How do I scan large quantities of photos?

There are multiple ways to scan a lot of photos. The most common methods are to use a bulk photo scanning service, a photo scanning app, or a photo scanner. Using a service is often recommended as it is much more efficient and less time consuming and it can help ensure the quality of the photos remains.

What is the easiest way to scan a box of photos?

The easiest way to scan a lot of photos is by using a service that provides bulk scanning. Scanning thousands of pictures at home is often going to take a lot of time, even if you use a photo scanner. Buying a scanner that is going to deliver high-quality pictures will also be a large investment, which likely doesn’t make sense unless you plan to use it on a regular basis.
